How it all started...
On April 30, 1978, the Rev. Alex White and approximately 200 people gathered to discuss the possibility of organizing a second Baptist Church on James Island. On May 7, 1978 at Ashley Plaza Mall Cinema the first services were held. In 1979 Roughly 4.7 acres of land were purchased on James Island, SC. After breaking ground on what would be our current sanctuary we worshiped in James Island High School Gymnasium until we were able to move to our property in 1983.
Over the years our membership grew to more than 800 members; In 2016 we experienced the transition of our first pastor. God blessed us that we were able to install our Assistant Pastor, Rev. Dr. George Kugblenu, as our Church's 2nd pastor in 2018. Under his leadership we experienced great spiritual & financial growth.

Expanding the vision...
In 2024 We experienced the transition of our church's 2nd pastor. Thankfully God blessed us that we were able to install our Assistant Pastor, Rev. Dr. Branden Sweeper as our Church's 3rd Pastor in 2024. Under his leadership we have experienced exponential growth.
Where we are headed...
We are embracing the future. We are currently 1 church in 2 locations. We are in the process of expanding to 1 church in multiple locations over the course of 2025.
